OK — been using this thing for maybe four months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since a mate asked me last week. I’m UK based, generally do football and horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever work out what an ew payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now I stick my stake in first, every time, even a simple single bet.

Their single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the multiples — trebles maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where most people I know lose track. If you want a look, it’s over at vig calc and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

One thing that really made a difference is the more serious extras. There’s an implied probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutching one is handy too for when I’m spreading across selections.

Couple of gripes. The layout is pretty plain — not much flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s usable though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame just flagging it.

Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.

So — been on this thing for something like four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d say something since someone asked me last week. Am based in the UK, generally bet football and racing, nothing mad, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was honestly pretty stupid — I could never get my head round what an e/w payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — you drop in the price and your stake and it spits out the return straight away, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s here how to work out a patent bet — free, no signup.

One thing that really made a difference were the geekier extras. The odds-to-probability converter which shows you what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly staking tool — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit for when I’m spreading across selections.

Couple of gripes. The interface feels a bit basic — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine though the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And no app, it’s browser only — slight shame but worth saying.

So yeah. Costs nowt, barely any ads, does the job. Anyone who honestly adds it up in their head, have a look — it’s saved me a load of “wait, that’s it?” moments.

OK — been using this thing for maybe six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d write something up since someone asked me a few days back. Am UK based, generally bet football and racing, nothing mad, so take it how you like.

How I found it was actually embarrassing — I never could work out what an each way return would be when the place terms changed. Basically I’d wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator is the bit I use most — type in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return instantly, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, a yankee, and that’s where most people I know mess it up. Have a go yourself, it lives at bet calculator yankee and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

One thing that actually shifted things for me was the geekier tools. There’s an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious the overround, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutching one is decent when I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. Its design looks a bit basic — not much polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it works but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, just the site — doesn’t bother me but you asked.

Anyway. Costs nowt, barely any ads, does what it says. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

So — have been messing about with this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d say something since someone asked me the other day. I’m based in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was actually embarrassing — I never could figure out what an ew payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator is the bit I open most — type in your stake, the odds and you get returns instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the multiples — doubles and trebles maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here trixie bet calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

One thing that really changed how I bet was the nerdier tools. The odds-to-probability calculator which shows you what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. The layout is a bit basic — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works but the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. There’s no app, just the site — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.

Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who still does the maths on paper, try it — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
